In a contest co-organised by several organisations meant for the clothing industry workers in the country, designs of 20 garment workers were selected for the final round in a design competition.
The competition received more than 1000 entries from garment workers from across 35 factories, which has been organised under the aegis of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), NGO’s, private companies and the government.
In lunchtime meetings, held in factories across the Kingdom, entrants were encouraged to send in their original designs. In the final round, the contenders will be provided with the proto-types of their designs.
ILO is working with designers and tailors to have the garments stitched in time, to be worn in time for the finals of the competition to be held in the end of November.
